Let your staff use an app

For admins. Once your company has added an app, you decide which of your staff can sign in with it. To add an app, open Add your app. To manage the apps you have, open OAuth apps.

You need the Manage OAuth apps permission on your role. Account owners always have it, and can give it to other roles on the Roles page.

Who can use an app

Each app is open to either:

  • Everyone at your company, or
  • Chosen roles only.

Owners can always use every app. A new app starts with owners only, so nobody else can sign in until you open it up.

You can change this on the app's settings at any time. If a role is removed, its staff lose access when their current access token runs out, up to 1 hour later, and have to sign in again.

Access requests

A person who is not allowed yet can press Request access on the sign-in page. Every request is listed on the app's requests list, with two answers:

  • Allow gives that person's role access to the app.
  • Dismiss closes the request and changes nothing.

An email goes to admins only when the person ticked Also email my admins. The request is listed either way, so check the list now and then.

Removing an app

Removing an app disconnects everyone who used it. Their access tokens stop working within 1 hour, and the next sign-in is refused. If the app is added again it gets a new client_id.

Developers see this as a removed app.
